Wow. 2016 is over and my life is completely changed. Last year revolved around pregnancy, prepping for baby, and being thrown headfirst into motherhood for a blur of the first few months. This year will definitely be all about Eleanor. As she continues to grow and change and show her little personality, we'll start to get glimpses of the person she will be someday.
Lately she's still thinking about rolling - she seems to have forgotten how to roll from front to back, so we're working on rolling both ways. She still loves to sit up and is practicing her core strength with that, and loves to stand with us balancing her. She plays with toys all the time and likes to touch and grab everything. She's very curious and you can tell she's taking in a lot of the things happening around her. Even though I don't have much of a singing voice, she LOVES when I sing to her. We mostly make up silly songs about what we're doing at the time - I really need to learn more songs!
The biggest thing we've been dealing with lately is her cold/sinus infection. We all had colds after Christmas, and Eleanor has been congested and/or coughing since before Christmas. We took her to the doctor twice and while they thankfully didn't see any sign of ear infection, they said that at this point she should have gotten over a normal cold, so she likely has a sinus infection that she can't kick on her own. So now we're on antibiotics, which is honestly almost worse. Her congestion and cough are slowly getting better, but the antibiotics upset her stomach and give her diarrhea, which has given her diaper rash. Plus, she HATES taking her medicine. It's a ten day course, so we've got a while to go. But I'm hopeful that once we're done, we'll have our healthy, happy girl back. We are thankful that she's been sleeping pretty well through it all - normally going to bed at 7:00 PM, gets up once around 11:00 or midnight, and then usually we wake her around 6:15 AM. I go to bed around 8:30, which is fine by me... I'm loving getting better sleep than a couple months ago!
And now, here's our cute girl:
