3 weeks

Well, we kept our little lady alive for three weeks so far. Lenny is doing well, gaining weight and growing like a champ. As of last Friday, she is 8 lbs, 4 oz and 20 inches long. That means that since her birth, she's gained 10 oz and grew 1.5 inches. She also lost weight after birth (normal for all babies), so from her lowest at 6 lbs, 11 oz, she has actually gained 1 lb, 9 oz! She is a good eater!

We are slowly getting the hang of breastfeeding, which has been hard. Good, but hard. She was a really good sleeper up until a couple nights ago, but we think she's going through a growth spurt where she wants to eat constantly. It's tiring and wearing on both of us (Caleb is great about getting up and helping with her at night, even though only I can feed her), but hopefully it's short lived and she continues to improve her stretches of sleep.

I'm slowly getting used to being home alone with her, which is hard for me. Caleb is such a good partner, it's hard to go from having all of his help to not getting a break all day. But we're figuring it out. I have had my sister come over many days for a few hours over lunch, which really helps give me a break and not be so lonely. I have also been going to local groups to meet other moms, which gets me out of the house and meeting people who get what I'm going through.

Someone is starting to stir from her nap, so time to go... I'll leave you with some pictures of Ms. Eleanor.

Milk drunk

Passed out on Aunt Kim while holding her finger

So hungry I eat Dad's hand and make faces while I wait for food

After dinner cuddles (and by dinner I mean one of the 15 times she fed that day - yes, 15 times)

Keep up the good work, Mama! You and Eleanor are a team, and you'll work out a game plan soon enough! I'm loving the updates :)
