Today I ran my first 5k race. It felt really good, beautiful scenery, exciting to run with other people.... I'm proud of myself, but now there's a new (much bigger!) goal - to run the half marathon next year! Tara, Andi, Bailey, and some other people have joined together to motivate each other to complete our first half marathon, just one year away now.
On the job front... a couple of weeks ago I told my boss I was quitting, and gave her 6 weeks until I was leaving. Last week she offered me a bonus to stay til the end of the year. So I'll have to wait to see just how much this bonus is, and if it's worth me staying longer. I'll still continue to look for a job, but yeah, it's a big decision. Probably smarter to stick it out for a while longer, but I really need to de-stress job-wise. So we'll see how this pans out...
So far I've lost 8.2 pounds with Weight Watchers - my 2 milestones I've hit are 5 pounds lost and losing 5% of my beginning body weight. I like this new lifestyle, and I'm proud of myself for being more in control of my eating habits - something I've always struggled with. If I get to my goal of losing 15 pounds, I might even go for 5-10 more.... I will always be healthy and eat enough, but I really think that with an active lifestyle and better eating habits, my body could definitely weigh less and still be very healthy. We'll see how things go moving forward - I know I'll probably "plateau" at one point, or have to work at maintaining the goal weight I just set, but I'm feeling optimistic so far!
I need to start working more with wedding plans, too, especially the stuff I need to reserve. I have the reception and ceremony locations, but now I need to reserve services and things like caterer, cake, DJ, tents, beer wagon, etc. Then I'll focus on making centerpieces, floral arrangements, invites, blah blah blah.... I'm half-excited and half-dreading the work, but I'm determined not to stress too much and freak out. Wish me luck!
