I am very happy, and my ring is goooooooooooorgeous, but I'm not quite giddy with pre-marital excitement yet.
Although I'm sure I'll get into it, I'm almost kind of dreading planning the wedding and reception. I feel like I just don't have time for this stuff. So while I want to make it as simple as possible, I also want to have it be ME.
Here is my mental list so far:
- No pastor at the ceremony (our friend will "officiate" once I get him ordained online)
- Ceremony will be 10 minutes, tops
- Unique color choices (lime green and purple? Borders on Barney, I know...)
- Different reception food (taco bar? jerk chicken? fajitas?)
- No dollar dance
- Awesome DJ
- Enough kegs to last the night, no questions asked
- Minimal cake-age
- Bridesmaids pick out their own little black dresses to wear
- Groomsmen wear matching shirts, maybe vests, no jackets
- 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen, tops
- Both parents give me away? (We'll see what Dad thinks of this...)
More to come, I'm sure. Caleb really doesn't care about much of it, except the booze and short ceremony, I think. But we do both agree that the most important thing is to have a fun celebration with the people we love. The promises and commitment are between us.
And I may put up a picture of my ring (and on Facebook, too).... but I haven't decided if I think it's too cheesy or not.

can i juggle in the background of your ceremony?
No. I request devil sticks.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! yay for you two!
Of course it's cheesy to post the ring picture and of course you MUST do it. Brides get to be cheesy. It's one of the few times in your life it's allowed...
kudos on all the plans, especially the no dollar dance, it takes too long. Just charge everyone a dollar to get in to the reception instead.

If you charge a dollar I'm not coming.
Tara, you are the cheapest person I know. Pay me a dollar right now or you're fired as a bridesmaid.
