I am excited and I know I'm more comfortable with a girl vs. a boy, but now I also think that if/when we have a second kid, I hope it's a boy so we can have one of both. But I guess we'll take what we can get. :)
So in all honesty, mostly today I've kind of been freaking out. Like, shit got real. There is a little girl in my belly. She is going to be a person. A tiny person that I have to keep alive, and try my hardest to make into a good person. That's a lot.
Multiple times today I've thought, "OMFG I'm having a child. I AM a child. What am I doing???" I also spilled Cheerios all over the kitchen today and realized I can barely care for myself. Who let me reproduce? A good friend reassured me that many dumber people than me have successfully raised children. How, I have no idea.
So now Caleb and I are trying to think of/decide on girl names. We essentially had boy names down to two top contenders, but had made little progress on girl names, of course. I also want to get going on getting the house ready for baby and nursery, which includes finishing up house projects, creating more storage in the basement, and clearing some old stuff out. Then we can start on the nursery! I have some ideas but nothing solid. You better bet I'm going to incorporate some feminist aspects into the decor.... hehe. Caleb was not keen on my idea of a fully feminist nursery, but I'll figure something out. I have a Pinterest board with some ideas on it if you want to check it out.
Below are the most recent pictures of Baby C. The ultrasound this morning was really cool - we could see a lot more and she has grown a lot! We looked at her heart, brain, kidneys, and other organs, and could see her spine and of course had to check out her bits to determine the sex. She is a blur no more! The tech commented that her brain looked really good, which must mean she's super smart. :)
