Tough Twenty

Well, I finished my last long-long run yesterday. And it HURT. I completed 20 miles, even though I was shooting for 22. I just didn't feel great throughout the whole run, and by the end, I knew my body needed to stop, so I called it at 20. I'm disappointed that I couldn't complete the whole 22 - I feel like I've busted through so many "barriers," that it's disappointing when I actually reach a limit. But I am proud that I listened to my body and didn't hurt myself, and really, 20 miles is fine. It's amazing, actually. And I am more than ready for the marathon, with two 20 mile runs under my belt, when my training actually only called for one.

Now I have three weeks of tapering, where I'm running just as often, but with much less mileage. And I am SO READY for a break! Then, on October 21, it's GO TIME.
