Moving Plans...

I have so much stuff to think about lately, but it's been all too easy to put it on the back burner. I mean, catching up on episodes of "Lost" is much more important than finding a job and a place to live in Mason City, right?

I keep thinking about when I will move... my mother has scared me (and rightly so) into rethinking the whole moving-without-another-job-lined-up plan, but I'm not totally ruling it out yet. I'm working on the job thing, I really am, but it's hard. And boring.

I'm also thinking about when I will move from to Mason City, in terms of my job here. My main concerns are:

• Bonus pay. My bonus is quarterly. Meaning if I left in May, I will walk out on a bonus that I've worked for two months or so on, that I could receive at the end of June.
• Cable reimbursement. We get reimbursed $35/month for cable bills (we call for the cable industry - don't ask) at the end of every quarter. I would then miss out on $105 in cable reimbursement if I left before the end of the quarter.
• Health insurance. If I leave at the beginning of the month, my health insurance will continue to cover me for the rest of that month.

So right now I'm really considering staying in Des Moines through the end of June. Then I will have my last day be July 3rd, so maybe I can get holiday pay for that as well! Caleb won't like this plan much, since he will be up in Clear Lake on his own for a while, but I'll have more money coming in and will visit him every weekend.

How does that plan sound? If I get a job I will definitely leave earlier, but if not, I will have a little extra money to hold me over while I'm job searching in Mason City. I think this is my new plan.
