Good day, sir!

Yesterday, my friends, was a GOOD DAY!

First of all, it was Caleb and I's five year wedding anniversary! We also celebrated being together for 11 years... seems hard to believe. At times I find myself congratulating myself, because, damn, I picked a good one. As my mother-in-law would say, I got a good "picker"! I'm very pleased to report that after over a decade, Caleb makes me smile and laugh every day, and continues to make me thankful to be with him. With all that's been happening with me lately, I feel like he's helped me through a lot, but I know that I try to support him as much as I can, too. I think it's a good sign that it makes each of us happy to make the other happy!

Five years ago - we look so young!
Speaking of, someone was a sweetheart and surprised me with my favorite things yesterday:

Pretty flowers, York Peppermint Patties, and Pink Moscato
We then went to dinner at Ranallo's, a nice little Italian restaurant in Uptown Ankeny. We then walked down to Firetrucker Brewery and had a beer on their back patio. The weather was gorgeous, people were having fun, and it was nice to just sit outside, relax and chat.

Empty view of Firetrucker - last night it was packed!

Another great thing about yesterday? Someone got approved by the IRB to finish her thesis!! Whoop Whoop!

Excitement aside, the next step is WORKING MY ASS OFF to finish by July 17th. I know I can do it, but it won't be fun. I am so ready to be done though, I'm ready to get going! That being said, I'm going to sign off and start writing!

I know, Grumpy Cat, I know.....

PS - [Yes, I know I should be writing my thesis right now.]
We also received a promising update from our insurance agent about getting some of the expense of our new furnace and air conditioner covered by insurance! No guarantees yet, but any little bit to offset that large cost would help!
[Back to writing....] :)
