Things feel pretty uneventful around here, but I guess we have been busy, or at least I have. We successfully booked our round-trip flight from Des Moines to London, for a really good price. Now we need to book a short round-trip flight from London to Dublin, and then figure out hotels, tours, etc. I'm really excited and wish I had more time to research and plan this trip!
Right now I am finishing up the first week of my summer class. It has a pretty intense workload, as an entire class is smushed into four weeks, but so far I'm enjoying it. The content is interesting and the material isn't as dense and difficult to read as my last class. Our professor also assigns us documentaries to watch and real news articles to read on things like the Japan earthquake and tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the BP oil spill. I have two pages of my research paper to write tonight and a test to take this weekend, but then I will already be 1/4 of the way done with this class!
One thing that is new this week is that my pops has been in the hospital! He somehow got a bad staph infection in his left elbow, and even after going in and getting some antibiotics at the Creston hospital, he ended up having to spend two nights in the hospital in Des Moines while they gave him IV antibiotics. He was in good spirits and feeling much better than the feverish/chills/vomiting/exhaustion from a few days before with the infection, but we made sure he didn't get lonely while he was there. I was really thankful that Kim was available to stay with him most of the time, and Caleb and I hung out with him both evenings, and my Aunt Joan and Grandma Phyllis stopped in to visit him as well. He's a pretty loved guy. :)
He's home now, feeling good, and back to planting in the field. He's still on antibiotics and watching the redness/swelling, and has a checkup today with the doctor, but I'm hoping it will all be good and he will be back to normal soon. Even though I wish it was for better reasons, I enjoyed hanging out with him at the hospital. He's so busy farming that I don't get to see him much, so I'm glad he got to rest and see me. :)

I heard! Good thing he went to the hospital when he did--staph infections are scary biz! So exciting about your European adventure, when are you going?
We'll be gone June 20 - July 4. So excited!
