4/1 - Today I went to my sister-in-law, Linda's, baby shower for her twin girls that are coming soon! I can't wait to meet them and am so, so excited to see what they look like, what their names will be, and who they will become.
4/2 - Got back on plan with WW on this Monday. Went a little crazy over the weekend and decided to start a new goal: Project Fit-Into-the-Capris-I-Bought-When-I-Was-Skinny-But-Then-Got-Too-Big-to-Ever-Wear!
4/3 - "In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that." - Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder
4/4 - "Ask yourself: 'Can I give more?' The answer is usually: 'Yes.'" - Paul Tergat, Kenyan professional marathoner
4/5 - Today in WW we talked about anchors, which are phrases, objects, or gestures that bring your goal back into focus and remind you to stay on track when you are about to stray off the plan. My anchor is the phrase, "Body like a battle axe." It's from the song "Get Over It" by OK GO, and I've always thought of it while running and thinking about how I want my body to look.
I know some people know "battle axe" as a surly older woman, but I view it more literally for my anchor - like a long, sleek weapon that slices through the air towards its opponent. My body will be a battle axe one day!
4/6 - This morning I received surprise flowers from a coworker! We have been working on the frustrating project of awarding scholarships, and she was feeling completely overwhelmed yesterday. I gave her some encouragement and kind of "talked her off the ledge," which she said she needed at that moment. Then this morning she brought these pretty yellow flowers as a "thank you" for helping her the day before. So sweet!
