...

So I was going to blog yesterday, but I kind of felt like a big pile of crap. I caught a cold on Wednesday that kept me up a lot of the night, and plagued me all day Thursday, while I was frantically trying to tie up all of our "end of the year" financials in the Foundation Office. I decided that morning to leave early and rest at home, once all my stuff was done - I ended up only leaving an hour earlier than normal. Bleh. I also didn't work out (because I couldn't breathe), and came home to eat lots of gummy bears and lay around most of the night watching Lost on Netflix. (Although Caleb and I had a pretty fun little impromptu dance party at one point - I turned on our Ke$ha Pandora station and was jamming out as I washed dishes, picked up stuff downstairs, and got some stuff together for New Years Eve. Caleb came downstairs and caught me dancing around, and joined me for a bit. He's so fun. :) )

Anyway... this morning I weighed in first thing (after waking up at 11:00 a.m.) on the Wii Fit and - alas! - I lost 1.3 pounds since Tuesday! Whoo! Pretty unexpected, but I'll take it! I haven't been terrible, but haven't been great about getting on track for pre-honeymoon killer status yet. But I guess that me being home, eating a little better, and working out Wednesday night did something.

So I'm not really sure how tonight (NYE) is going to go. Caleb talked one of his work friends into having a party at his house. He lives in Britt, which is about 20 minutes from Clear Lake. He has this big house all to himself, so the plan is to get a bunch of people there and we can all just crash in his extra bedrooms, couch, etc. at the end of the night. Caleb and I have been preparing some things, making Skittle Vodka and Vodka Gummy Bears. We've successfully made Skittle Vodka before, and it's delicious. The gummy bears are an experiment, but how bad can they be? We'll eat them with a spoon if we have to! I'm also making cheesy hamburger dip and brownies.

However, two things are impeding the party. One - as far as I know, only five people are coming. Including us. Two - the weather is supposed to be terrible. Like, icy, slick, scary roads. Although, if the weather is bad enough, I'm hoping it will keep some people in town that were planning on going somewhere else, forcing them to come to the party. Hehe.

So I hope tonight goes well. I'm mostly afraid of two things. One, that no one shows up and it's lames-ville, and two, that people will show up but that I will get way too drunk off of sneakily delicious Skittles Vodka and gummy bears. We'll see what happens....
