Pity Party

I've had a rough past couple of weeks.

First, I make a mistake at work while entering donations into our database system. It was a small oversight, that I took full responsibility for. However, it turned into a huge issue that had to be fixed by fiscal year end (June 30). It ended up taking my boss three whole days to fix. While I've felt comforted with Caleb's assessment that only a really crappy system would make such a small mistake such a huge issue, I still felt really bad for causing my boss all that extra stress and work.

Then, I hear from my wedding photographer that her hard drive, with all of my wedding pictures on it, has crashed. Her first attempt at having a tech recover it failed, so she sent it off to a company in California with great recovery rates. We are waiting to hear back.

On that same day, I go in for my yearly lady visit, and the doctor finds a lump in my breast that she wants to have tested. I procede to freak out until I am able to get in for an ultrasound the next day, where they tell me everything is normal and I have nothing to worry about.

During all of this, I've been eating really poorly, and when I weighed in this week, it showed. I am now 4.5 pounds over my goal weight, meaning I've gained 5.5 pounds in less than a month. I also decided to throw myself a huge pity party last night by looking at pictures of another bride on her honeymoon and obsessing over how flat her stomach was.

I really hate feeling like this. I am still feeling down, but I am becoming more and more determined to turn things around. I have been doing well with sticking to my half marathon training schedule, and I've set some goals with rewards to incent me. I know I can get back down to the weight I was at, or lower, and I can make improvements to my diet and exercise routines. Hopefully this was just the sucky kick in the butt I needed.
